THE SUN WAS BEATING DOWN HARD, HARDER THAN GA'STALL HAD EVER FELT BEFORE, HE WALKED ACROSS THE DESERT'S SURFACE, EMBLAZONED AND RUNED TOOLS JANGLING AND GLINTED IN THE SUN AT HIS WAIST. HE WALKED SLOW, SCANNING THE LANDSCAPE BEFORE HIM SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING, ANYTHING OTHER THAN SAND.The sun was beating down hard, harder than Ga'stall had ever felt before, he walked across the desert's surface, emblazoned and runed tools jangling and glinted in the sun at his waist. He walked slow, scanning the landscape before him searching for something, anything other than sand.
THE SWEEPING ARRAY OF SENSORS SOFLTY BEEPED INSIDE HIS MASK AS HE JERKED HIS HEAD TOWARDS THE HORIZON, SAND WAS SILENTLY KICKING UP IN THE DISTANCE AND APPROACHING FAST... A FALCON DRONE APPEARED INTO VIEW FLYING BACK TO IT'S MASTER, HE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO SEARCH THROUGH THE VIDEO DATA ON THE DRONE REMOTELY THROUGH HIS MASK BEFORE IT HAD MADE LANDING, THERE HE SAW IT, A SMALL OUTCROPPING OF SANDSTONE NO LARGER THAN A SHUTTLE, IT WAS PERFECT.The sweeping array of sensors soflty beeped inside his mask as he jerked his head towards the horizon, sand was silently kicking up in the distance and approaching fast... a Falcon Drone appeared into view flying back to it's master, he immediately began to search through the video data on the drone remotely through his mask before it had made landing, there he saw it, a small outcropping of sandstone no larger than a shuttle, it was perfect.
GA'STALL DROPPED TO ONE KNEE AND CLUTCHED A HANDFUL OF SAND, LETTING IT RUN THROUGH HIS FINGERS SLOWLY. THE FALCON DRONE HAD FINALLY ARRIVED AND PERCHED ATOP HIS SHOULDER, METALLICALLY HISSING AS IT ENTERED IT'S CONTAINER. HE RAISED HIMSELF UP AND BEGAN TO SPRINT IN THE DIRECTION OF SANDSTONE. HE DASHED ACROSS THE DESERT'S SURFACE, CONSTANTLY CHECKING IN ALL DIRECTIONS FOR SOMETHING THE DRONE HAD MISSED UNTIL IT CAME INTO VIEW. HE CAME AT AN INSTANT STOP, SLIGHTLY SLIDING ACROSS THE SURFACE OF THE SAND NOT A FEW YARDS AWAY FROM THE SANDSTONE MONOLITH, HE LOOKED AROUND SLOWLY, SCANNED THE LANDSCAPE TO CHECK IF HE WAS ALONE. HE WAS.Ga'stall dropped to one knee and clutched a handful of sand, letting it run through his fingers slowly. He was.
APPROACHING THE SANDSTONE OUTCROP, GA'STALL RAISED HIS HAND AND REACHED OUT TO TOUCH THE ROCK, SLOWLY PULLING HIS FINGERS ACROSS THE MATERIAL LIKE A CLEANER CHECKING FOR DUST. RELEASING A BELLOW HE ROARED SEEMINGLY TO NOTHING.Approaching the sandstone outcrop, Ga'stall raised his hand and reached out to touch the rock, slowly pulling his fingers across the material like a cleaner checking for dust. Releasing a bellow he roared seemingly to nothing.
HE WALKED BACK FROM THE STONE, FAR ENOUGH AWAY THAT HE COULD SEE THE HEAT RISING OFF THE SAND INFRONT OF HIM. WITH A HISS AND A ZZZP HIS SHOULDER CANNON RAISED FROM IT'S HOLSTER AND BEGAN TO CHARGE... THEN ZAP. ZAP AGAIN. THE SAND WAS KICKING UP INFRONT OF HIM TO THE POINT HIS SENSORS WERE BEGINNING TO CONFUSE THE WALL OF DUST AND SAND FOR A SOLID OBJECT, DEBRIS SCATTERED AND FLUNG AROUND HIM, SOME EVEN FLEW SO CLOSE AS TO LIE AT HIS FEET. THE SHOULDER CANNON BEEPED SOFTLY, IT NEEDED TO RECHARGE.He walked back from the stone, far enough away that he could see the heat rising off the sand infront of him. The shoulder cannon beeped softly, it needed to recharge.
HE LOOKED AROUND HIMSELF SEEMINGLY PLEASED AT THE DEBRIS THAT WAS SCATTERED AROUND, THE DUST WAS SETTLING AND HE LOOKED UP TO SEE THAT THE FRONT OF THE SANDSTONE OUTCROP HAD BEEN HOLLOWED OUT INTO A SMALL, CAVE-LIKE ENTRANCE. HE DROPPED TO ONE KNEE ONCE MORE AND BEGAN TO COLLECT EVERY SINGLE ROCK, LARGE AND SMALL THAT HAD BEEN FLUNG FROM HIM FIRING HIS CANNON AT THE ROCK, STACKING THEM OUTSIDE THE ENTRANCE. ONCE HE HAD FINISHED PICKING UP THE DEBRIS HE ENTERED THE NOW CAVE-LIKE STRUCTURE, IT WAS SMALL, THE CEILING WAS NO MORE THAN AN INCH TALLER THAN HIMSELF AND THE CAVE WAS RUGGED WITH ROUGH-BLASTED WALLS AND A JAGGED FLOOR.He looked around himself seemingly pleased at the debris that was scattered around, the dust was settling and he looked up to see that the front of the sandstone outcrop had been hollowed out into a small, cave-like entrance. He dropped to one knee once more and began to collect every single rock, large and small that had been flung from him firing his cannon at the rock, stacking them outside the entrance. Once he had finished picking up the debris he entered the now cave-like structure, it was small, the ceiling was no more than an inch taller than himself and the cave was rugged with rough-blasted walls and a jagged floor.
HE SEARCHED HIS WAIST FOR A MOMENT, CHECKING THAT NOTHING HAD FALLEN OR BEEN LOST, PULLING OUT A SMALL TOOL THAT HUMMED WITH ENERGY. HE CLICKED BUTTON AT THE BASE OF THE TOOL AND A SMALL PLASMA FLAME JETTED FROM THE TOP, HE PRESSED THE SMALL FLAME AGAINST THE WALL WHILE COCKING HIS HEAD TO THE SIDE, WATCHING THE SANDSTONE MELT TO A BLACK AND SHINY GOO.He searched his waist for a moment, checking that nothing had fallen or been lost, pulling out a small tool that hummed with energy. He clicked button at the base of the tool and a small plasma flame jetted from the top, he pressed the small flame against the wall while cocking his head to the side, watching the sandstone melt to a black and shiny goo.
HOURS HAD PASSED NOW, THE MOON HAD RISEN AND THE CAVE-ENTRANCE SHONE WITH A BRILLIANT BLUE LIGHT BOUNCING OFF THE NOW BLACKENED AND SHINY WALLS OF THE CAVE, THEY WERE SMOOTH AND GLINTING NOW, CATCHING THE MOON'S REFLECTION OCCASIONALLY AS HE WORKED. PULLING OTHER TOOLS FROM HIS BELT HE BEGAN TO CARVE INTRICATE RUNES, SHAPES AND CHARACTERS INTO THE WALLS, THE TIME SPENT MEANT LITTLE TO GA'STALL AS HE FOCUSED ON HIS WORK. FINALLY, HE GOT ON HIS KNEES AND LOOKED TO THE FLOOR, HIS FINAL CARVING WOULD LAY HERE.Hours had passed now, the moon had risen and the cave-entrance shone with a brilliant blue light bouncing off the now blackened and shiny walls of the cave, they were smooth and glinting now, catching the moon's reflection occasionally as he worked. Pulling other tools from his belt he began to carve intricate runes, shapes and characters into the walls, the time spent meant little to Ga'stall as he focused on his work. Finally, he got on his knees and looked to the floor, his final carving would lay here.

SUDDENLY, AS HE WAS CARVING INTRICACIES INTO THE FLOOR OF NOW HIS-CAVE GA'STALL JERKED HIS HEAD AROUND AND LOOKED BEHIND HIM, SAND WAS KICKING UP AGAIN, HE COCKED HIS HEAD TO THE SIDE QUIZZICALLY.Suddenly, as he was carving intricacies into the floor of now his-cave Ga'stall jerked his head around and looked behind him, sand was kicking up again, he cocked his head to the side quizzically.
IN THE DISTANCE, NOT TOO FAR, HE SAW IT, ANOTHER SHUTTLE. IT WAS STRANGE, METALLIC PLATES WITH NO ADORNMENTS AND BRIGHT BLARING LIGHTS FRANTICALLY SEARCHED ACROSS THE DUNES OF THE DESERT IN THE NIGHT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING. IT WAS NOT OF YAUTJA IN ORIGIN, FAR FROM IT, GA'STALL PAUSED FOR A NEW MOMENTS AND CLICKED HIS MANDIBLES TOGETHER UTTERING A SINGLE WORD.In the distance, not too far, he saw it, another shuttle. It was strange, metallic plates with no adornments and bright blaring lights frantically searched across the dunes of the desert in the night looking for something. It was not of Yautja in origin, far from it, Ga'stall paused for a new moments and clicked his mandibles together uttering a single word.
"HUMANS.""Humans."
RISING TO HIS FEET AND LEAVING HIS TOOLS SCATTERED AROUND THE FLOOR HE LOOKED UP AT THE MIDNIGHT MOON AND THEN BACK AT THE SHUTTLE. IT WAS GETTING CLOSER NOW, HE COULD HEAR THE PRIMITIVE ENGINE WHIRRING FROM SOME DISTANCE AWAY. HE DROPPED HIS HEAD AND RAISED HIS HAND TO HIS GAUNTLET, SEEMINGLY DISAPPOINTED, HE ACTIVATED HIS CLOAK AND WALKED FORWARD, FOOTPRINTS LEFT IN THE SAND GAVE AWAY HIS PRESENCE BUT THEY WOULD LIKELY NEVER KNOW. HE CONTINUED FORWARD UNTIL HE WAS PERCHED ATOP A DUNE LOOKING OUT AT THE SHUTTLE, IT WAS LOWERING ITSELF DOWN INTO THE SAND.Rising to his feet and leaving his tools scattered around the floor he looked up at the midnight moon and then back at the shuttle. It was getting closer now, he could hear the primitive engine whirring from some distance away. He dropped his head and raised his hand to his gauntlet, seemingly disappointed, he activated his cloak and walked forward, footprints left in the sand gave away his presence but they would likely never know. He continued forward until he was perched atop a dune looking out at the shuttle, it was lowering itself down into the sand.
THE PRIMITIVE ENGINE WHIRRING STOPPED AND THE LIGHTS CONCENTRATED ONTO ONE SIDE OF THE CRAFT, ONE OF IT'S WALLS LOWERED INTO THE SAND AND EXTENDED INTO A SMALL BRIDGE. TWO FIGURES EMERGED FROM THE SIDE OF THE CRAFT CLAD IN GREEN ARMOR AND WIELDING RIFLES, PRIMITVE TO YAUTJA TECHNOLOGY BUT STILL DEADLY IN THE CORRECT HANDS, EVEN TO A MORE ADVANCED SPECIES. THEY LOOKED AROUND, THEIR GAZE MET GA'STALL'S SEVERAL TIMES THOUGH THEY'D NEVER KNOW IT HAD.The primitive engine whirring stopped and the lights concentrated onto one side of the craft, one of it's walls lowered into the sand and extended into a small bridge. Two figures emerged from the side of the craft clad in green armor and wielding rifles, primitve to Yautja technology but still deadly in the correct hands, even to a more advanced species. They looked around, their gaze met Ga'stall's several times though they'd never know it had.
GA'STALL LOOKED DOWN AT HIS BRACER, INSTINCTIVELY PRESSING A BUTTON, HIS CLOAK FIZZLED OUT AND HE CAME INTO VIEW. ONE OF THE HUMANS IMMEDIATELY LOCKED EYES WITH GA'STALL TO WHICH HE PEERED BACK AT. THE HUMAN SEEMED TO FREEZE . GA'STALL RAISED HIS HEAD TO THE DESERT MOON AND RELEASED A TREMENDOUS BELLOWING ROAR. THE OTHER HUMAN FLICKED AROUND AS FAST AS THEY COULD HANDLE WITHOUT FALLING OVER AND SHOULDERED HIS RIFLE, HE RAISED HIS OTHER HAND AND STARTED SCREAMING SOMETHING.Ga'stall looked down at his bracer, instinctively pressing a button, his cloak fizzled out and he came into view. One of the humans immediately locked eyes with Ga'stall to which he peered back at. The human seemed to freeze . Ga'stall raised his head to the desert moon and released a tremendous bellowing roar. The other human flicked around as fast as they could handle without falling over and shouldered his rifle, he raised his other hand and started screaming something.
GA'STALL DASHED FORWARD FROM ATOP THE DUNE, PLANTING BOTH FEET HARD ONTO THE EDGE SLIDING DOWNWARD, UNVEILING HIS WRISTBLADES HE SPRINTED FORWARD, GUNSHOTS RANG AROUND HIM, MOST HIT THE SAND, SOME HIT THEIR MARK THOUGH IT WAS NOT TO DETER GA'STALL FROM THE PREY THAT DARED INTERRUPT HIS CRAFTSMANSHIP. HE OPENED HIS ARMS INTO A WIDE ARC, THE HUMANS WERE STOOD CLOSE TO EACHOTHER, TOO CLOSE TO EACHOTHER. WITH THE SWIFT SOUND OF FLESH SLICING AND BONE CRACKING, THE HUNT WAS OVER.Ga'stall dashed forward from atop the dune, planting both feet hard onto the edge sliding downward, unveiling his wristblades he sprinted forward, gunshots rang around him, most hit the sand, some hit their mark though it was not to deter Ga'stall from the prey that dared interrupt his craftsmanship. He opened his arms into a wide arc, the humans were stood close to eachother, too close to eachother. With the swift sound of flesh slicing and bone cracking, the hunt was over.
HE STOOD STILL, DRIPPING HIS FLUORESCENT BLOOD OVER THE SANDS FROM CLEAN BULLET WOUNDS THROUGH HIS LEFT LEG AND SHOULDERS, TWO HEADS SLICES CLEANLY FROM THEIR TORSO'S LAY IN THE SAND. HE KNEELED DOWN TO PICK THEM UP AND PAID HEED TOWARDS THE DOORS OF THE VESSEL. THERE WAS NOBODY THERE.He stood still, dripping his fluorescent blood over the sands from clean bullet wounds through his left leg and shoulders, two heads slices cleanly from their torso's lay in the sand. He kneeled down to pick them up and paid heed towards the doors of the vessel. There was nobody there.
BRIEFLY LOOKING UPWARDS INTO THE MOONLIT SKY HE PICKED UP BOTH THE HEADS AND BEGAN HIS JOURNEY BACK TO START HIS WORK ANEW.Briefly looking upwards into the moonlit sky he picked up both the heads and began his journey back to start his work anew.
